Jeff Gordon NASCAR Profile

星期六, 04月 26th, 2008

Jeff Gordon is a famous American race car driver who was born in 1971 in Vallejo, California. He has won the Nascar Winston Cup four times, and he drives car #24 for Hendrick Motorsports. As of this writing, one of his most prominent sponsors is DuPont. Jeff Gordon began racing when he was only five years of age. He loved to race cars, and his family was supportive of him. His family actually relocated primarily because they wanted Jeff to be in a location where he could better harness his racing skills. While he was still a minor, Jeff had already won a number of races and was given the USAC Midget Car Racing Rookie of the Year award.

After this, Gordon went on to win the USAC Midget title, and by 1991, he had gained the USAC Silver Crown. He broke a record by being the youngest person to ever capture the title. He went to the Busch Series after this, and had a large number of victories. Gordon crashed his car during the the Hooters 500 race in Atlanta in 1992, and this caused him to be placed in the 31st position. Jeff Gordon was one of many young racers who would be placed on high quality teams early in their careers. The success of Jeff Gordon allowed a younger generation of racers to begin competing in Nascar.

Many critics felt that Gordon was not ready to compete at the professional level because of his habit of racing cars so hard that he crashed them. However, Gordon proved them all wrong during the 1994 season, were he emerged victorious in the Lowe’s Motor Speedway, which was a long and difficult race. Gordon would also go on to win at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400. In 1995 he won what would become the first of four Winston Cup Championships. Jeff Gordon is also famous for rising up against the legendary Dale Earnhardt, and he has become a fan favorite.

Many people consider Jeff Gordon to be one of the greatest drivers in Nascar because he achieved so much at a very young age. Even at 35 years of age, Jeff Gordon has successfully won 75 races, which is just one victory behind Dale Earnhardt. Jeff Gordon is also notable for making Nascar a popular sport with mainstream audiences. For a long time, the sport was only regulated to the south, but Jeff Gordon has allowed it to reach a high level of popularity due to advertising and his skills with the media.

Confused About Finding The Vacuum Steam Cleaner Reviews To Locate The Best Steam Vacuum?

星期五, 04月 25th, 2008

You won’t be after reading the scoop on those vacuum steam cleaners.

One thing that needs to be cleared up is that a vacuum steam cleaner really isn’t based on actual steam. These machines, no matter if they’re the cost effective Dirt Devil steam cleaners or big commercial steam vacuum cleaners, they all work basically the same.

Steam cleaners work using hot water and usually a detergent with most adding some mechanical action to loosing dirt. Once the dirt is suspended in the water/detergent solution, it’s then vacuumed up with the carpet rinsed with clear water. Understand that STEAM is water vapor at a temperature over 212 degrees f.

That said, commercial steam vacuum cleaners do have a greater capacity to heat and maintain water temperature thereby increasing the cleaning capacity of their equipment. It stands to reason then that any machine that heats the water before the actual carpet cleaning would naturally clean more effectively than one that didn’t have the heating capacity.

Several upright carpet steam cleaners are now available that have a water heating feature. The new Bissel upright units claim that their heating process can increase water temperature by as much as 25 degrees. This is a great feature as the hotter the water, the better the cleaning result.

Vacuum steam cleaner reviews to find the best steam vacuum should rate all of the following:

1. A mechanical or powered brushing system to loosing dirt.

2. A clean water heat booster to increase temperature for better cleaning.

3. Good suction and vacuum for quick drying ability.

4. A large enough water container to do a good sized room without the need to stop and refill the unit. About a gallon or so would be great.

5. A long cord that could be plugged into another room away from the damp carpet and water in the steam cleaner.

These features should be considered the basic minimum for any able whole carpet vacuum cleaner with steam capability. Just remember that although there really isn’t any steam cleaning, the hotter the water the better the clean. Carpet cleaners that use an electric heat booster will generally deliver better results if only because of the hotter water.

There are a number of great little machines on the market today that can keep your carpets looking great between commercial or professional cleanings. Some do such a good job that you may want to buy a carpet steamer with the money you’ll save from not using the commercial cleaning companies.

How to Bet on NASCAR and the Betting Odds

星期二, 04月 22nd, 2008

NASCAR has become one of the hottest sports to bet, so we’re here to put you on the fast track to understanding racing odds and finding the best places to wager. The two main ways of gambling on NASCAR are “Betting to Win” a race and “Matchup Betting” which pits a driver against another driver or a group of drivers.

“Betting to Win” an outcome event like the Daytona 500 is the most common way to wager on a NASCAR race. Since NASCAR has multiple races over the course of a year, “Betting to Win” obviously offers numerous wagering opportunities. It is very important to note that not all the drivers in a race may be listed, so another NASCAR betting option is on the “field” which includes all other drivers not listed.

The NASCAR odds on a “field” bet depend on how many drivers are listed and how likely it is for the top drivers to win. In other words, if the same five or six drivers seem to battle it out for the top spots each race, the odds on the “field” will be much higher since there is less likelihood that one of the longshots in the “field” will win.

Here’s an example:

Favorites or top drivers = 5/1 to 10/1

30 or so other well-known drivers listed individually = 10/1 to 200/1

Field (collection of 20 or more not listed) = 80/1

Futures are another way you can “Bet to Win” that can offer you appealing NASCAR odds because you are betting far in advance of when the event takes place. For example, betting on the 2006 Daytona 500 now might get you much better value on Jeff Gordon, who may be 10/1 at this moment but dip to 6/1 closer to the event if he is on a roll. For more information on the value of betting NASCAR futures, read How Future Bets Can Pay Off.

In addition, NASCAR drivers are awarded Nextel Cup points according to the place they finish in each race, and those points are accumulated over the course of the season (click here to learn how the NASCAR points system works). Some Las Vegas sportsbooks will allow you to bet on who you think will finish atop the Nextel Cup standings, giving you yet another opportunity when it comes to betting NASCAR.

Meanwhile, “Matchup Betting” offers an alternative to simply betting on a NASCAR race’s winner. Artificial head-to-head matchups are created by oddsmakers and involve drivers who are all competing against each other to win the race, with the bet specifically focused upon how one driver finishes compared to another driver in the matchup. Group matchups are another “matchup betting” option particularly popular in golf and NASCAR, where you can select how one driver will finish amongst a group of other drivers. Both head-to-head and group matchup NASCAR odds are based on the money line (check out How to Read the Money Line for more information).

Since NASCAR has pre-qualifying, not everybody will start the race, so most group matchups will typically require all individuals in the group to start in order to be eligible for action. Different sportsbooks will often feature different matchups, and this is very important to note because you can shop around to different online sportsbooks and try to find the NASCAR matchup that’s most worth betting on. There are several advantages to betting at elite online sportsbooks but the very best will give you the most wagering opportunities, so it’s a good idea to consider betting online and find out what everybody has to offer.

Also, keep in mind that popular drivers tend to be over-rated and over-priced when oddsmakers create these artificial matchups due to their status of being more well-known with the public, so the underdogs are usually a good play because they offer more value. If you like a particular driver going into a NASCAR race, your best move is to compare matchups across multiple sportsbooks and put a larger wager on the biggest mismatch in your estimation. Then you can also put down a small wager on your favorite driver to win the race in case he takes the checkered flag. By betting your driver to win the race and a matchup, you’ll have double the fun knowing you’ve got double the chances to win!

If you are a knowledgeable NASCAR fan who has a good feel about how races will likely turn out, then you should most definitely trust your insights and use them to find strong bets. For those of you with less experience, several sports web sites have power rankings for drivers which should give you a good idea of who’s hot on the NASCAR racing circuit and who’s not. Of course it’s up to you to decide which driver you want to bet on, but the more you learn about NASCAR racing, the more prepared you will be when placing your bet. Hopefully now at least you know the basics of betting NASCAR and how to use NASCAR odds to your advantage!

Golfing in Naples

星期六, 04月 19th, 2008

Naples is an upscale, sophisticated community on Florida’s west coast. Early settlers to the area described the bay as “surpassing the bay in Naples, Italy.” The name stuck, and the Naples of Florida was born. There are activities for any taste - Naples features seven miles of white sand beaches that border the turquoise-blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, while inside the city proper you’ll find boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries that rival those of Beverly Hills. In spite of all this, Naples retains a friendly, laid-back atmosphere that makes it a favorite among vacationers.

As far as activities, there are enough attractions to occupy your time in Naples that you could spend weeks in this little town and never do the same thing twice. If you enjoy golf, you’re in luck. Naples is the self-proclaimed golf capital of the world, and features more holes per-capita than any other place on the globe (or so they claim - and pay no attention to the double entendre). If shopping is more your thing, then you’ll love the downtown area, which offers a multitude of shopping and dining possibilities, as well as a string of art galleries descriptively called “Gallery Row.” If history is more your bag, take a look at Olde Town, and in particular, “Millionaire’s Row,” which features some amazing old mansions from the Victorian Area. With all of these fantastic attractions, you might be wondering why I will recommend that if you can only do one thing in Naples, you do something entirely different. You should attend the Swamp Buggy Races.

Now, hear me out. This is no ordinary boring NASCAR-style race around a track (note to NASCAR fans: I know that NASCAR is not really boring). This is a spectacle that’s about stepping back in time to the years when ridiculous looking vehicles with balloon tires were the only vehicles that could ply through the swampy land around Naples. This tradition of goofy oversized vehicles lives on in the Swamp Buggy Races, which are held a few times each year. Most of the track is covered in at least 18 inches of water, and there are a few 3 foot deep holes to keep things interesting. There are many classes of vehicles, from the tiny to the gargantuan, and good times are always had by all.

When headed to Naples for the Swamp Buggy Races (or for any other reason, really), be sure to consider Mirage Limo as your means of transportation. There’s no way to head to a swamp buggy race than in a limousine or other luxury vehicle (just don’t take it onto the track). Once you go to Naples, you’ll never want to leave.

iCoil Mattress Miracles

星期二, 04月 15th, 2008

What’s the big deal about iCoil and why should you care?

If you were looking for a mattress that would last a lifetime, no matter what the brand name, you’d only have one simple question to ask, but before we get to that question, consider what you’re up against as a mattress shopper.

If you’ve been bed shopping, lately, you are surely aware of the myriad of different mattress materials that are being used.

Years ago, even before all these choices, I remember being confused, myself, with trying to wrap my mind around everything I was being told by the salespeople in different stores I would visit.

Today, the job is even more daunting with air, water, latex, gel, memory foam, iCoil and springs of all kinds making up the market, it’s really confusing for you, the consumer.

In spite of the vast array of mattress %materials% available, it’s a well known fact that a whopping 75%-80% of Americans still prefer sleeping on spring mattresses.

With this in mind, you might want to spend a couple of minutes with me, educating yourself on the difference in springs and what that means to you.

Bonnell springs are the most common kind of springs that mattresses are made with, so let’s take a look at them.

The bonnell spring mattresses are made by securing all the springs together as a unit and then surrounding them with a stiff wire, to make a perimeter around the mattress. By tying all the springs together, what you get is, essentially, one great big spring.

Not only does this design transfer motion from one person to another, it makes for a very unyielding material.

If you end up bending a portion of that perimeter wire, your mattress will be permanently bent there.

I had a friend who tied his mattress to the roof of his car, while moving, and the wind lifted the front half of the mattress up and bent it. It was really funny looking when he laid it down, because it stuck up 3″ off the boxed spring on one end.

There’s brand new technology called iCoil that I’ve been studying into and it’s far and away the most ideal design in mattress springs I’ve seen yet.

These iCoils are so precision-made that they can be compressed, rolled and placed into a take home box. Once you arrive home, with your real mattress in a box, you open the box and the mattress slowly returns to it’s exact size and shape.

The manufacturer did this to make it possible for you to buy an extremely high quality mattress without creating a black hole in your wallet.

The latest technology is applied to every product they produce. You don’t sacrifice any quality even though you are paying far less.

No other mattress springs were able to pass this test.

The pocket springs never returned to anywhere near their original size and shape. The bonnell springs performed worst of all.

In fact, remember my friend with the bent springs? Well, the bonnell spring mattress that was rolled up, did the same thing. It remained rolled permanently after being unpacked. It reminded me of a giant roll of chicken wire.

Having iCoil inside your mattress is the only question you need to ask when you’re shopping. I’ll bet you had already guessed that.

Do you want a graphic illustration of what I’m talking about? Check out a cool video showing a 30 ton steam roller vs. iCoil. You can see it at http://www.sleeprevolution.com. Once there, look for the Durability Feature Video. I think you’ll agree, after seeing their video, that this cutting edge technology is in a class all by itself.

How to Choose Furniture for a Restaurant or Bar

星期六, 04月 12th, 2008

Before you begin to think about how to furnish a new bar — or refurnish your old one — you should ask yourself one very important question: What are people going to do here?

It’s not as obvious as it seems. Sure, they’re going to buy drinks, schmooze, and hopefully keep coming back to invest in your kids’ college fund one mojito at a time. But what is the unique character of your bar? Are you a sports bar with a half a dozen flat screen televisions? Are you a traditional pub serving lunch and dinner? Or, are you in an urban arts district catering to a crowd stopping in for a drink before a night at the theater? Each of these is a very different business — and each has a different way of making money. It’s important to keep all of these factors in mind when thinking about how to furnish your establishment.

Let’s start with your bar’s entrance. If you are in an urban area or a college town, you’re probably going to need some kind of door control. You’ll likely employ a bouncer or two to check drivers’ licenses at the door. A great bar table and stool set at the establishment’s entrance not only reminds your employees that you care about their comfort, but it serves as a preview of what’s to come for potential patrons. Consider a simple bar table such as the Olympia Stainless Steel Bar Table. Combined with an appropriate bar-height stool, you offer your greeters and door managers a compact station from which to do business. The table offers a surface for managing door supplies — wristbands or hand-stamps, for instance, tickets, or a small cashbox for making change — and this particular model has a clever rack under the tabletop for hanging a bag or purse.

For seating, consider something along the lines of the Aluminum Bar Stool with Arms, appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use, or an adjustable-height stool. Door-management is an essential operational factor for many bars, and doing it wrong can cost you money — even your liquor license. It’s also how your customers will first interact with your business, so it’s worth doing right. An elegant pub table and matching stool sends the correct message.

Inside the bar, the furniture will be determined, in part, by what you are serving up with the drinks. Whether it is a hot plate of fish-n-chips, buffalo wings, potato skins or something a bit more high-class, the décor needs to match what is featured on the menu for a truly complete experience.

Unless you’re operating a ultra-traditional bar with limited space, chances are you’ll have at least two seating areas: one at the bar itself and the in a dining area with tables and dining chairs. If you’re a sports bar — or a corner pub where neighbors congregate to watch the big game — then you’ll want to make sure your seats are comfortable enough so your guests aren’t squirming at half-time. As much as we love the elegant lines of the Wave Back Barstool, a better choice for the sports-oriented venue might be a traditional, comfortable piece such as the Oak Frame Swivel Stool with Leather Seat and Back. Or, for a truly swanky touch, the cushy Overstuffed Arm Stool with Black Metal Base and Foot Ring adds the perfect touch. Upholstered seating surfaces in durable, professional-grade fabrics, leather, or leather-look vinyl invite your guests to have another round in comfort, while swivel stools invite conversation among the armchair quarterbacks.

Bridging the gap between upholstered seating and elegant modern furnishings are design classics such as that of the Double Chrome Ring Retro Style Frame Counter Stool. Both fresh and classic, it’s a comfortable combination of the traditional and the contemporary. And although it’ i a counter stool, there’s no reason to limit these stylish, versatile pieces to bar seating. Counter-height tables, from classics like the Poplar Pub Table with Cherry Finish and Walnut Inlay, to sophisticated modern expressions such as the Chrome Frame Bar Table with Glass Top offer seating alternatives that are comfortable for guests, easy on servers, and flexible enough to accommodate dozens of different decors. Whether your aesthetic is influenced by Studio 51 or NASCAR, there’s a bar stool that is exactly right for your business.

If your establishment is more food-oriented — or if you simply prefer the look of a traditional dining-room — then you might want to consider table-height seating away from the bar, rather than bar-height or counter-height seats. Nevertheless, there’s a good deal of flexibility here as well. From traditional workhorses such as the Solid Oak Pub Table Top with Iron Base to beautiful, formal options such as the Antique Appearance Dining/Game Table, there’s plenty to choose from.

Remember, it’s only in part a matter of style. Style matters, to be sure, but so does function and economy. If you’re a high-volume business selling pitchers of beer, you probably don’t want a barroom full of antiqued Queen Anne tables. You might, however, seriously consider a mix-and-match approach, mating solid, reliable table tops with an assortment of complementary bases. Separate tops and bases are easier to ship and store and provide an economical alternative for venues that need sturdy surfaces at great prices.

The secret is to shop around. From formal dining rooms to folding banquet tables, to solid oak or outdoor options in wicker and rattan, you’ll likely find great pieces designed for the rigors of commercial use that matches elegant style, for the host in you, with affordable prices, for the businessman in you.

Lower Your Golf Score - Simplify Your Putting

星期四, 04月 10th, 2008

Putting is such an important part of your golf score. It is the part of your golf game that itself is Indianapolis - O’Reilly Tickets game. In order to become a good golfer… you have to be able to putt well.

Think of your putter as just another club in your bag for a moment. In a normal round of 18 golf holes, let’s say you use this club we call the putter just twice per hole. That’s 36 times you and your putter will have the opportunity to affect your golf score! Are going to hit your driver 36 times? Or your 7 iron 36 times? Not hardly.

Yet with such overwhelming statistics, most mid to higher handicap golfers really don’t spend enough time working on their putting. In reality, it is the putter that can most rapidly improve your game. Just imagine, by improving your putting you could easily save yourself 10 strokes per round by consistently making those 4 to 6 foot putts and rarely three putting. That’s going from a golf score of 100 to 90 or 90 to 80! That’s very significant.

So with renewed focus and enthusiasm for improving our putting, let’s take a look at a few tips we can use to doing so.

Position the ball slightly forward (toward your front foot) in your stance. You want your eyes just slightly behind the ball. From this position you will be able to get a good sight line between your ball the intermediate target in your putting line.

The grip is the ‘feel’ you have for the putt and these days there are numerous variations of putting grips. The important concept here is that you realize that your grip (hands) should not be used to take away or manipulate the putter through the stroke. The putting stroke originates and is implanted through a pendulum type motion provided by the shoulders. Not the hands. Find a grip that is comfortable for you and one that you can keep inactive during the putt.

Once you commit to your putting line, pick out a target on that line that is just ahead of your ball. Now visualize an imaginary line that runs from your target line just ahead of your ball back through the ball and right through the center of your putter. You want your putter face to be absolutely square to your line. Once you’ve done this don’t adjust your grip, body position or anything, else you risk losing your perspective.

The putting stroke like all your golf swings is one of rhythm. It is accomplished through a pendulum motion of the shoulders. The key is to minimize all other body 2008 nascar race tickets and don’t follow the putter through the stroke with your head. Any body or head movement will greatly increase the possibility that your putter face will move off of square to your line.

And finally, always work to achieve the same stroke distance and tempo through the golf ball as you had going away from the golf ball. Your putting stroke should be of equal length both back and through.

Consistently allocating a portion of your practice time to your putting stroke is without doubt the easiest and quickest way to start shaving strokes off your golf score. If you only eliminate but one putt for every other hole, you’ll immediately take 9 strokes off your score… not a bad return from your putter at all.

Jeff O’Brien offers instruction and insight on golf that will get your golf swing and golf game on track or off to a good start by establishing a good foundation which you will build your golf swing and game. Golfing in Naples

星期六, 04月 5th, 2008
